- Overview of a Personal Computer ( basic hardware and software details)
- Interacting with the computer (handling a physical system)
- Technical Nomenclature ( briefing of basic terminologies and their conventional usage)
- Why use a computer? ( scope and impact of computers on our lives)
- Basic tools and accessories briefing of simple, effective and useful tools embodied in the GNU/Linux OS (typing tutor, text editor, paint etc...)
The Philosophy (1 ½ hrs)
- Why free software?
- The Indian perspective to Free software
DAY2
Office suite
- Writer
- Spreadsheet
- Impress
DAY3
Internet and other web tools ( 1.5 hrs +2*)
- Introduction to Internet
- Prospects of using Internet
- Internet Browser and browsing the net
- Email clients
- Wikipedia and any other search Engine
- Internet and Society
Introduction to Edubuntu tools (1+1*)
- Demonstration of genre of Education related tools and prospects of using them by teachers for students
